Description
The first Prudential World Cup produced a feast of spectacular cricket and enthralling finishes that culminated in one of the greatest matches of all time – the West Indies V Australia final – the icing on the cake after a succession of exciting and high-quality qualifying matches.
Following such glittering performances, it was appropriate that Clive Lloyd – the captain who harmonized the traditionally varied island interests to produce a consistently world-beating West Indian side – treated us to one of the greatest pieces of batting ever seen and won the cup for the West Indies. June 21st, 1975 – truly his finest hour!
